REFEREE RESPONSIBILITIES FOR EACH TEAM
(U10 and older)
It is responsibility of each team (U10 and older) to provide Assistant Referees (A/R) for a DIFFERENT game on each Saturday. Below are the schedules showing THE GAME you are required to cover. Parents should be aware that it is NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY of the COACH to fulfill this.
There are training opportunities for the parents to attend to become proficient at Assistant Referee. The Center Referee needs this help during every game. TEAMS not fulfilling their requirements will not be invited to our own tournament in January.
Each team begins the season at -10 points. Providing an A/R for the game on the schedule will earn your team +1 point. If you miss your assigned game, your team will lose -1 point. If you A/R a different game*, you will receive +1pt. *Note that at no time shall an assigned A/R be replaced by a “rogue” A/R if the assigned A/R shows up. EVEN IF THEY ARE A FEW MINUTES LATE!
The goal here is to have you show up at your assigned times. So if you miss your regular game assignment, you must work two others to catch up. The max. A/R points you can earn in any weekend is +2. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST WEEKEND OF THE SEASON TO REMEDY YOUR POINTS.
Providing a Center Referee for any game will earn your team +2 points. There is no limit to the number of Center Referee points in any weekend, but all center referees MUST BE SCHEDULED w/ the Referee Administrator.
All referee names and TEAM NAMES must appear on the GAME CARDS to receive credit. Points will posted as soon as humanly possible after each weekends games. Bring any discrepancies to the attention of the scorekeeper immediately. Please track your own referee points so we can resolve issues more easily.
We would encourage you as a coach to get your parents involved here.
REFEREE SCHEDULES
Note that each division will referee within that division. For the most part, U10G will REF for U10B and vice versa. There are times when U10B will be asked to REF other U10B games. We are expecting all referees to participate with sportsmanship in mind.
Also note that there is one U10 Referee assignment to a U12 game. So please download both schedules...
Thanks to all who volunteer as Referees!
