Board meeting 6-11-09
 
Called to order by Andrew Nielsen 6:45 pm
 
Members present: Andrew Nielsen, Jason Wesner, John Van Driel , Dave Flores, Dean Benjamini, Duane Valencia , Gary Palomino, Octavio Rosales, Nicole Wesner, Susan Poole, Paul Poole, Anna Rosa Calkins
                          

 Opening comments: Andrew Nielsen-
A discussion was held on the importance of new Regional Bylaws-it was decided that we would adopt the standard bylaws for a brief time, until a committee was formed to amend to fit the needs of region 443- It was mentioned by Duane the importance of getting this done before July so national would approve
Andrew/Dean spoke on the importance of getting a budget completed. Andrew will try and obtain last years budget from Jim so we at least have a starting place to complete this task
 A worksheet was sent around asking for board member information-Andrew asked us all to update our volunteer forms on EAYSO-and we spoke about access to EAYSO-Andrew is working on these issues

Our finances are going to be a challenge this year- We are not sure how much money is available-
 
$71000.00. From the first registration still needs to deposited in the bank of our choice- about $12000.00 of that figure is being held in trust in an area account until we open our own account, the remainder is in checks.
 
$19000.00- is in Rabbo bank- This money has been frozen- until Andrew is on the account and an official Audit will take place-
 
It was voted on that Dean Benjamini, Andrew Nielsen and Susan Poole would be the signers on the new account. The new bank chosen will be left up to Dean.
 
The Rabbo account Andrew and Dean will be added so that a proper Audit can be done
 
 
      Money still owed to score uniforms for the 2008 season
          Money is still owed to National
It was also mentioned that the phone bill and Bobs soccer shop still hasn’t been paid- These items are being explored by Andrew.
 
        
City Report/PR Report  John and Jason-
 
A meeting was held with Robert from the city John, Andrew and Jason on June 11, 2009 - went well- 
 
PR- We have had some news coverage- The board members are to stay positive and move forward- let the chips fall as they may

Registration Nicole
 
We are 75% full- numbers will be finalized and sent out by Nicole soon-
We will be increasing the number of players to 12 on a team on a U 12 division-
 
Registration will take place June 16, 17, 18- Any help would be appreciated
 
A motion was made by Nicole and seconded on by Jason that we no longer have Jamboree-Motion was approved.  U5/U6 division will start one week earlier than regular season in for board members to be present-
 
A scholarship committee was formed- Dave Flores, Nicole Wesner, Anna Rosa Calkins, Andrew Nielsen, and Dean Benjamini
 
UK Camp
 
Neil from UK will handle most the arrangements-
No money will be spent this year on fun activities for coaches
Camp will run Mon-Friday June 15-19 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm
Striker class will be held on Saturday
 
Referee Admin- Gary
 
It was moved and approved by members Gary would have a budget of no more that $2200.00 to send several to the Ken Aston camp.  Gary will be buying dinner one night for the attendees at a reasonable priced restaurant
 
Coaches Report- Duane Valencia-
 
Dean moved and Octavio seconded that U8 will have goalies, motion approved
Susan to give Duane the list of coaches she has
Rating of the players was briefly discussed and tabled for a later date
 
 
It was decided by the group that meetings will be held on the 2nd Monday of the month-Next meeting will be held on June 22- 6:30 at Truman School-
